The Data Implementation Science Team supports impactful delivery of solutions benefiting the health system; discovers, validates, designs and delivers opportunities of change and brings contextual awareness through data to ensure successful implementations, value and outcomes.

Overview of the Position:

An exciting opportunity is available to showcase your talents as a Project Manager with the IT Transformation Program of the UHN Digital Technology and Innovation Portfolio. We are seeking a bold, creative and innovative individual who can design solutions that enhance the patient/provider experience and contribute to digitally enabling UHN’s future. In your role, you will bring a mastery of executing design solutions that are patient-centric, data-driven, bring value to our customers and achieve UHN’s business objectives. You will be collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team (executives, managers, digital subject matter experts, designers, data analysts, technical specialists etc.) in all phases of the design from discovery to execution.

Our primary goals this year are to:

•Complete the transition of all UHN Digital activities

•Design and launch new digital investment governance structures at UHN through engagement and co-design, while setting the stage for short term and long term strategic planning

•Design and launch new processes and teams that support data science across the organization while developing capacity and capability in data governance, data quality and measuring value

This role requires the candidate to be both technical and business facing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Apply breakthrough design “ideation”, integrating diverse channels (mobile, social, emerging and future technologies etc.) to create holistic solutions from “ideation” to execution.

•Strong understanding of design and delivery methodologies and frameworks such as Lean, Agile and Customer Led Design in a complex environment.

•Process oriented but agile; able to quickly translate requirements into designs that are both functional, innovative and creative.

•Demonstrate leadership skills including the ability to set priorities and lead teams through large change initiatives.

•Manage several concurrent high visibility transformation initiatives using Agile project management and a Design Thinking approach.

•Facilitate decision-making at all levels and demonstrate value to the organization substantiated through data. Facilitate process and design workshops that involve eliciting process requirements and liaising with users.

•Handle unusually complex problems and design highly innovative and creative solutions that will achieve quality process improvements by using knowledge and expertise from different functions and areas of the hospital.

•Sound knowledge of data analysis, data queries, data quality, data reporting or other specialized data management knowledge.

•Actively research emerging digital business models and technologies, able to articulate the digital future and UHN’s role in it.

•Create measurable value and return on investment (ROI) for our customers.

•Acts as a champion of change, leading the organizational changes required to create and sustain digital capabilities.

•Control risk by managing client expectations, program scope and taking early action to resolve problems.

•Contribute to a team environment and be highly collaborative with team members including the Digital Executive Team, Digital Subject Matter Experts (dSMEs) and other UHN stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

•University Degree required in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field. Masters degree an asset.

•Minimum 3 – 5 years Project Management/agile Project Management experience or equivalent.

•Comprehensive knowledge of agile project management (project planning, implementation, evaluation, risk assessment, benefits realization).

•Knowledge and experience applying change management principles and methodologies: Kotter, ADKAR (Prosci) and other industry leaders.

•Quality (Lean/Six Sigma) certifications preferred.

•PMP designation preferred.

•Strong analytical ability and experience; statistics background is helpful.

•Proven stakeholder management experience including negotiating, influencing and consensus building.

•Strong facilitation, interviewing and observations skills.

•Be flexible working in a time-compressed, highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.

•Demonstrated proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analytics to support IT investment benefits and Return on Investment analyses.

•Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to focus on the detail and to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical teams.

•Entrepreneurial mindset and proactive approach.

•Supervisory or managerial experience.

•Extensive knowledge in business systems analysis and problem resolution.

•Strong presentation, writing, and/or training skills.

•Excellent team building skills, listening, coaching, group facilitation and conflict resolution skills.

•Proficient use of computer, software, and peripheral equipment, i.e., Windows 2000, MS Office, MS Mail/Outlook, MS Project.
