About the Job:
Kreston GTA is looking for an experienced accountant to join our small business division. Kreston GTA is a mid-sized firm located in Markham which provides accounting, tax, assurance and related services to corporations and individuals. Our client base is diverse from various industries.
Overview of Position:
The primary responsibilities will include:
-Year end accounting of corporate clients
-Preparation of Notice to Reader financial statements
-Preparation of corporate, personal and trust income tax returns
-Preparation of tax slips (T3, T4, T5, etc.)
-Preparation of US personal tax returns
-Developing a positive working relationship with staff, managers and partners of the firm
-Managing multiple project assignments
-Continued professional development of tax and accounting
Requirements of Position:
-1 to 3 years’ minimum experience at an accounting firm
-Must have strong computer skills, Word and Excel a must
-Working knowledge in CaseWare and QuickBooks an asset
-Experience in T1 personal tax software a must
-Experience in US tax return preparation an asset
-Great written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to identify critical issues with ease
-Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
-Excellent attention to detail
-Quick learner and able to adapt to changes well
-Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
-Ability to work in a high pace environment
-Ability to multitask
Candidates must have Canadian experience and are eligible to work in Canada. Candidates must live in a reasonable distance to the Markham area.
