THE POSITION
We are looking for a Junior Travel Accountant who is responsible for full cycle accounts payables and receivable functions, reconciliation and for providing general accounting support to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day accounting functions such as various reconciliation, A/R, AP etc.
Skills Required:
- Travel Industry experience is a must
- Minimum 4 years general financial accounting experience within the travel industry with a solid understanding of accounting principles
- Minimum 3 years of experience using the financial software TRAMS
- Minimum 4 years in handling travel accounts receivable and payable
- Familiarity with travel accounting concepts arising out of BSP, or ARC processes
- Experienced working in a travel consolidator environment an asset
- Familiarity with GDS travel booking systems (Amadeus is preferred but not must)
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office – intermediate to advanced Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to function effectively during month end accounting cycles
- Comfortable in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency in accomplishing goals and objectives to ensure success
