Position Overview:
Perform production and inventory analysis at Canada Goose, provide analytical support to operations, and perform month end duties related to inventory and production variances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain standard costing of all products in Canada, US, and Europe
- Inventory reconciliation from financial reports to physical transactions
- Collaborate with production execution and IT to ensure production posting is accurate
- Analyze labour, overhead, and purchase price variances and report summary at monthend
- Analysis and maintenance of all inventory obsolescence and shrink provisions
- Accrue for raw materials in transit during monthend cut-off
- Identify potential financial issues or reporting requirements to be noted during financial reporting
- Assist in updating Management Reporter definitions as needed
- Perform quarter-end sales cut-off analysis and adjustment
- Ensure all financial reports tie to general ledger
- Maintain full and accurate data sets of transactions for audit purposes
- Support and provide documentation to the audit process
Experience, Education and Designations:
- Must have experience in a manufacturing organization
- 4+ years costing experience
- University degree in Business/Accounting
- Working towards or already completed Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
- Experience working in publicly traded companies
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- Detailed knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Advanced skills in MS Excel strongly preferred
- ERP experience with MS Dynamics AX a plus
- Cross-departmental experience and people skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
