Overview

 

Within Scotiabank’s Global Compliance department, the Data Analytics team is looking to hire Data Quality Issues Management Lead who will work closely with Enterprise Data Office, business partners, technology teams, engineering teams, data architects, data modelers and other analytics teams in the Bank to unlock the power of data and draw impactful insights to support decision-making and day-to-day operations in compliance. The position will ensure governance of the Enterprise Data Quality Issue Management process ensuring that all Global Compliance projects follow the Enterprise Data Quality Standards and policies around Data Quality Issue Management.

Data Quality Issues Management Lead will contribute to the overall success of the global compliance team in protecting the Bank’s customers thereby keeping their trust in our ability to provide excellent services all the time.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Lead data quality assessment efforts and data quality monitoring and validation activities for continuous improvement
Asses and analyze data quality results
Day to day oversight and administration of the Data Quality Issue Management toolset is key to the role
Collaborate with various technical and data governance teams on identifying, classifying and cataloguing data quality issues
Facilitate root-cause analysis of quality issues and develop resolution plans in collaboration with technical and business stakeholders
Manage data cleanup activities with business process owners and data stewards
Review and provide management oversight to the Data Quality measurement dashboards as it relates to Data Quality Issues
Responsible for the Data Maturity Model DQIM assessment and metrics
Participate in creation and implementation of required data quality rules and checks
Prepare and deliver data quality findings and recommendations to stakeholders and upper management
Responsible for DQIM process enhancements, reporting and stakeholder engagement
Manage the entire issue management lifecycle from issue identification to issue resolution
Provide leadership to ensure appropriate data quality polices, standards, procedures and controls are established and followed
Participate in Agile planning and retrospective sessions, attend stand-ups, etc.
Maintains a good understanding of the Bank’s business strategies, policies, risk management and IT processes and disciplines.
 

 

Requirements:

 

University degree in relevant STEM discipline (Computer Sciences, Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering, Mathematics) and/or relevant work experience
Certification in Quality Management is a bonus
5+ years of hands-on experience on data analysis and data quality related work
5+ years of experience in Data Quality Management, Data Management, Issues Management, Data Analysis and Business Analysis
Strong working knowledge of industry practices
Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau
Proficiency in relational database management, SQL and one or more programing languages
Experience with Case Managements and/or Issues Management tools
Experience with JIRA, Confluence, CA-PPM, MS Projects are assets
Proven time management skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities is essential
Experience with agile methodologies, source control management and building processes
Excellent communication skills, with a strong customer-focus
Strong team orientation
