Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Tangerine Design Department in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
Leads the creation of the Design System product at Tangerine serving its customers: Designers & Developers
Designs and optimizes the utility/make journeys for designers.
Builds reusable system assets such as components, icons, font systems, layouts, data visualizations, color systems, motion frameworks, etc.
Oversees the progressive built of the design system assets.
Plans the roll out and adoption of the design system to digital products.
Manages the technology stack hosting the design system.
Monitors the system adoption, efficiency, maturity and compliance.
Managing, mentoring, and coaching other designers on system thinking, visual and interaction design principals.
Leads the team sprint schedules and monitor progress of the design system backlog.
Integrates emerging needs from customers and stakeholders into the system.
Works with design system tech lead to unify system across all code platforms and frameworks.
Education and Other Requirements
A degree in Design Ops, Visual and Interaction Design or equivalent work experience.
Strong working experience delivering Design Systems.
Experience working with teams on large-scale projects.
Experience with human-centered design methods.
