Manager, Program Operations and Performance Management

Purpose

Scotiabank is on an exciting journey to expand its customer loyalty program and deliver more value to customers. This position manages financial analysis, expense reconciliation/attestation, controls, and documentation of customer growth and loyalty program investments, ensuring alignment with Audit and Regulatory requirements and target profitability objectives. Ensures business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures

 

Key Accountabilities 

 

•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge

•    Plan, measure, and reconcile expenses across customer growth and loyalty programs. Facilitate cross-functional attestation process, ensuring internal program expenses align with variance thresholds

•    Maintain process/control documentation, aligning with Audit/Regulatory requirements, and ensure internal stakeholders adhere to obligations

•    Investigate expense discrepancies and provide resolution in accordance with SLAs. Manage customer issues related to points discrepancy and provide resolution in timely/efficient manner  

•    Conduct financial analysis to determine revenue growth associated with program expense 

•    Support innovation roadmap to drive process efficiency/scalability, deeper insights, and ROI orientation 

•    Maintain calendar of key initiatives, reports, and invoices and dissimilate information and guidance to key stakeholders 

•    Maintains financial records/system that enable analysis and develops presentations to support strategic decision making

•    Effectively manage and prioritize multiple business initiatives, projects, and ad-hoc analysis with business stakeholders or external partners

•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education and Other Requirements

 

•    5+ years of experience, with focus in Financial/Budget Management, Loyalty/Partnerships, Vendor Management, or Marketing Operations  

•    Undergraduate degree (or equivalent diploma) required; graduate degree an asset. Specialization in Finance, Business, or Operations, CFA, or MBA certification an asset

•    Understanding of Retail Products financials and P&L levers 

•    Competencies: Communication, Results-orientation, Process Design/Governance, Controls/Audit, and Financial Management

•    Knowledge of the Canadian banking financial services marketplace, customer segments, and the Bank’s relative competitive position within those market areas

•    Demonstrated success in leading teams and working cross-functionally. Excellent written and oral communication skills 

•    Experience with data visualization and tools including PowerBI, Tableau, and Microsoft Office
