Scotiabank is seeking a Project Delivery Manager to join the Global Risk Management Program Management Office (GRM PMO) team. This team provides program governance, delivery and portfolio governance across Global Risk Management functions to launch and execute transformation and regulatory projects / programs.

 

Project Delivery Manager will be responsible to support the Director – Program Management in the overall planning, execution and delivery of strategic and regulatory programs across Global Risk Management (GRM), in line with the Bank’s standards.  Project Delivery Manager will apply the sound project management techniques including Agile methodology to lead the successful delivery of technical and non-technical projects  involving business transformations, technology and analytics solution design / implementation, operating model enhancements, etc.   

What you’ll do in this role?

• Conduct project management activities for assigned project/s (technical and/or business) often involving multiple functions and stakeholders

• Understand project objectives, scope and key outcomes.  Develop project plans based on inputs from key stakeholders, workstream leads and other team members and review and validate as required

• Monitor and track project scope and progress throughout the project lifecycle to deliver the expected project outcomes within agreed-upon time, cost, and quality parameters

• Gather inputs and document project status updates by scheduling periodic touchpoints (weekly/bi-weekly) with business or technology partners

• Ensure development of the necessary project documentation (e.g. project charter, resource plans, milestones, success measures, transition plans etc.) and escalate any identified issues and risks in a timely manner

• Support monitoring and tracking of project financials, and assist with the identification of discrepancies between financial forecasts and actuals and escalates material discrepancies

• Follow established enterprise project management standards for recordkeeping and Audit purposes

• Provide review support to project artifacts created by the project teams (e.g. business process design, business requirements documentation, etc.) as needed

• Assist Senior Manager/Director (PMO) with the other program management activities e.g. business case documentation, program reporting, resourcing activities, etc.

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business and support partners

 

What we’re looking for?

• Minimum 3 years of project management experience. Demonstrated project management skills for business projects, including ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and follow through on completion of high-profile projects; experience in technology projects is not mandatory but would be an asset
• Experience in project management methodology including Agile framework; (PMP/PMI certification and/or SCM is an asset)
• Highly skillful in creating quality project documentation
• Experience in Financial Services and / or consulting is preferred.  Risk Management experience will be an asset.
• Flexible and able to quickly adapt to unfamiliar, ambiguous or changing conditions
• Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Project, Visio etc.
• Ability to manage problem logs to successful resolution on a timely basis
• Willing to learn new technology and applications
• Demonstrated experience supporting delivery of complex projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
