Senior Analyst Finance – Consumer Insights Data & Analytics

Purpose:

 

The Senior Analyst will be a key member of the Finance team that supports Consumer Insights, Data & Analytics (CIDA) to produce annual budgets, forecast updates, complement and staffing reporting, business line allocations, provide financial analysis and control as well as management reporting.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

•    Works closely with all team members to deliver the annual budget and quarterly forecast for CIDA
•    Liaises with budget contacts to gather information supporting the budget submissions, including compiling, researching and consolidating statistical information for use in the analysis of budget submissions and responding to requests for supporting details
•    Validates information sources, develop and maintain controls to improve data integrity and completeness, and create templates/processes to automate and simplify tasks
•    Ensures completeness and reasonability of budgets and forecast
•    Produces ad-hoc reports to support the consolidation and analysis of overall CIDA budgets
•    Works closely with team members of EO / head office and the business lines to maintain business line allocation methodologies, provide analysis on impact of any changes and communicate the changes to the business lines
•    Maintains and update complement and staffing database and remuneration forecasting model for CIDA
•    Participates actively in approving hiring requests
•    Produces monthly and quarterly reports for the management of CIDA and EO / Head office
•    Understands and write commentary about variances in staffing including active and vacancies
•    Plays a key role to measure and report the financial benefits of key Analytics initiatives
•    Works closely with the CIDA team and business line finance teams to ensure that the financial benefits have been validated and signed off by the stakeholders
•    Identifies new initiatives that may drive financial benefits and understands the business drivers for such benefits 
•    Produce regular reporting to update the management team 
•    Actively support the monthly and quarterly financial reporting process 
•    Prepare month-end and quarter-end financial results
•    Assist in the preparation of monthly journal entries and supporting entries for business line allocations
•    Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial results 
•    Complete variance analysis to understand significant transactions and drivers for variance

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

 

•    University degree specializing in Finance/Accounting
•    Minimum of 3 years of work experience in related positions is required
•    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
•    Experience with visualization tools an asset: Power BI/Tableau
•    High level of accuracy and keen eye for detail
•    Good communication skills and a good team player
•    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, have vision and innovative approach to solutioning business needs
•    Flexible to adapt to a dynamic work environment, make quick and sound decisions under pressure 
•    Eligible to work in Canada
