Senior Manager, Managed Accounts Support

Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Managed Accounts Support department in Canadian Wealth Management Operations ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities 

•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

•    Manage the provision of operational admin services to PIC, ScotiaMcLeod and Scotiatrust business lines for Mpower Portfolio System including PIC and Summit Mpower sessions, 1832AM Fund Accounting (Scotia Funds portfolios) on Mpower and PIC PureFacts session for 1832AM (formerly DWIC). 

•    Oversee team in charge of quarterly PIC statements and annual CRM2 report production for PIC clients, oversee 1832AM (formerly DWIC) division client account fee processing. 

•    Act as PIC Executive Office liaison for Operations, and point of contact for escalations.  

•    Manage all projects and liaison with various teams and staff to ensure workflows and SLAs are not compromised (specific involvement in investment platform projects will be required). Be a change champion for process improvement, system implementations, and strategic initiatives.   

•    Responsible for overseeing the reconciliation of all control accounts and ensure proper sign-off is performed monthly. As well as oversight of audit controls, and remediation of any audit items raised.   

•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

•    Other duties as assigned by management in the context of the role.  
 

Education / Experience 

•    Thorough knowledge of Mpower and Broadridge  
•    Strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to think “big picture”
•    Strong management skills and experience leading teams  
•    Thorough knowledge of PIC Portfolio Administration, CIM Team and Portfolio Operations
