Purpose of Job
The Wealth Digital Transformation is a collection of dynamic individuals who work together with Technology and other stakeholder to help our Canadian Wealth Management achieve its strategic goals. Working in an Agile environment we develop solutions for Advisors, Clients and everyone in between to enhance the digital experiecne while interacting with Wealth. We have an ambitious plan to deliver on some large strategic initiatives over the next few years to set Canadian Wealth for success.
The current need is on the Advisor experience segment of the digital transformation where we are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team to further a few key technology initiatives.
In this role there is opportunity to work closely with the business, translate their needs to technology and help deliver technology solutions that enhance an advisor experience and set our business lines for future technology enhancement
Key Accountabilities
Specifically, the Product owner will:
Play a leadership role in the Agile team to ensure that capabilities are in-scope, on-time and of high
quality
Translate WDT directives and customer needs into backlog items. Serve as the primary source of
external information for the scrum team, offering clear definitions of the targeted capability, the intended
value to the customer, and functional/non-functional requirements.
Create product roadmaps for the development team(s). Author, refine and approve backlog items, with
clearly articulated acceptance criteria
Manage and prioritize backlog contents, ensuring sufficient depth of groomed items for consumption and
commitment
Apply incremental delivery principles, drive the delivery of business value, communicate progress, elicit
feedback and enable stakeholder reviews for validation in the process
Review QA test plans to align with acceptance criteria, facilitate testing and review of early builds for
adherence to functional requirements
Manage engagement with stakeholders and effectively communicate product release contents and
expected product capabilities/customer journey
Identify and manage business activities (training, communications etc.) required to support agile
initiatives
Manage project financials, develop cost of delay models and define KPIs to measure business outcomes
and team success
Facilitate problem solving on a day-today basis as required, working closely with development team on
implementation challenges
Coach team members and help with their development / desired outcomes as required
Actively collaborate and engage with the agile team
Contribute to building organizational capability and expertise on agile adoption
Education/Experience
Under-graduate degree in business, or related discipline
MBA an asset
– Security certifications &
– CFA/Financial education is a bonus
Comprehensive knowledge of wealth management – the intricate details of how a brokerage and private investment council (PIC) businesse operate. Having exposure in dealing with IIROC and OSC regulators.
Thorough familiarity with wealth management product offerings & services
– Client life journey within brokerage and PIC
– Advisor jounrey within both businesses
– Good understanding of oversight and overlay within both businesses
Thorough familiarity with financial planning for wealth management – strategy, tools and excution across multiple wealth business lines.
Knowledge of Agile principles
Demonstrated ability to achieve results while working in cross-functional environment
