About the role
Contributes to the overall success of the API / Scotia Digital Platform in Canada and Globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Build and support API Edgegateway platform as part of the overall API ecosystem to promote reuse of APIs to reduce cost and improve productivity
Designing technical solutions and strategies for software applications and building detail technical design, deployment & implementation patterns
Participating in daily design discussions focused on scalability and design and implementation best practicesUnderstand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabanks Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
Advance level proficiency in Microservices development using Spring Boot/Java or NodeJS
Advance level proficiency in designing and building applications using 12-factor Cloud native and Microservices Architecture
Advance level proficiency and several years of experience in developing enterprise applications using core Spring framework and Java Design Patterns and strong knowledge and experience with advanced skill sincluding OAuth, Spring Security, etc.
Proficient in using GIT for source code repository and Maven / Gradle for build.
Proficient in IDE tools such as Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA or VSCode
Proficient in Cloud-native Containerized Architecture and have years of experience in deploying applications to containerized cloud platforms such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and Kubernetes and Istio Service Mesh
Experience using Jenkins for building CI/CD pipelines and using SonarQube, Fortify, Web Inspect an dBack Duck for Code Quality
Knowledge of Open API Spec standard is an asset
Knowledge of Azure, GCP, Docker, Splunk, Dynatrace is an asset
Knowledge of API Gateway, load balancer (L4/L7), encryption is an asset
