Job Purpose :
As an Intermediate Designer, Branded Environments at SLD you are responsible for delivering the highest standard of creative with which to represent the company. It is your role to provide strategically based design solutions that inspire, innovate, and challenge the objectives of the client brief.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project support, creative phase
- Translate strategy and positioning into design concepts
- Sketch and conceptualize designs in two and three dimensions
- Provide strategic design rational for all creative
- Develop the creative portion/ rationale of the client presentation
- Develop design solutions that both inspire, challenge and meet the objectives of the brief
- Attend client presentations to present creative & have a POV
- Ensure that the project stays on track, strategically, time wise and budget wise Act as a senior resource for studio giving input on details / creative
- Ability to manage your time and effectively manage multiple projects / tasks of varying complexities, meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
- Ability to work with a variety of clients , and capable of managing complex
projects
Maintain a positive attitude and represent the company in a professional manner
- Develop design details into supporting working drawings & millwork drawings
- Prepare renderings and presentation materials as required to communicate the design
- Ensure that budgetary needs and creative object ives are achieved for each and every
- Ensure the quality, accuracy and code compliance of all contract documents created in the design studio .
Experience & Skills :
- Minimum 4 years industry experience (retail/ foodservice)
Excellent communications, both written and verbal as well as interpersonal skills
- Must be highly organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects
- Proficiency in AutoCad, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Sketch Up as well as Word , Excel and Acrobat .
- Working knowledge of the building code
Education :
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design from an ARIDO accredited post-secondary institution
- Completion of NCIDQ qualifications preferred
- LEED and or Bill 124 certification in small and large building an asset
