Role Purpose:
Leads and oversees strategic planning, pricing, forecasting and performance optimization functions across all products for Tangerine Bank in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this Role right for You?

Collaborate with organizational stakeholders to develop and execute product strategies that increase revenue while deepening Client relationships 
Lead annual revenue planning process by building individual product forecasts; leverage product strategies, macro-economic insights and competitor dynamics to establish tactical roadmaps
Interpret Client behavior, macro-economic trends and asset flows to conduct scenario analyses and inform business decisions that support strategic growth and positive contributions to product P&Ls
Establish, measure, and monitor key performance indicators to develop recommendations that improve performance
Collaborate with business lines to prepare pricing recommendations based on macro-economic trends, competitor positioning, and Client behaviour
Prepare detailed costing analysis to support strategic decision making
Develop competitor analysis to understand changing market dynamics, and implications for Tangerine
Lead monthly Tangerine Asset Liability Committee Meetings
Act as lead conduit to Finance for all budget planning activities, including forecasting, cost allocation and analytics.
Provide strategic support and counsel to Executive Management
Provide strong strategic leadership to motivate and develop leaders, while building a collaborative and cross-functional culture.
Lead and/or contribute to cross-functional initiatives, committees, strategic projects, and new priorities and innovation opportunities across the organization; act as subject matter expert on product financials and lead financial analysis of new business cases
Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. 
Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
Skills you need to Succeed?

MBA and/or professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA) is an asset 
7+ years leadership experience in a lean environment 
7+ years in product management, pricing and strategy experience with direct exposure to Retail Banking products. 
Exceptional analytical skills with proven experience in business casing oversight 
Strong forecasting and reporting experience 
Solid understanding of channel and stakeholder management 
Well-honed relationship building and negotiating skills
Effective mentor, coach and motivator of teams 
A partner and team player with a true team work ethic; works effectively and cooperatively with others; intrinsic collaborative approach
Brings a big-picture perspective; has the ability to see how all the pieces fit together and contribute to the achievement of broader organizational goals
A proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic and a high degree of personal integrity; takes ownership and likes to be held accountable for results; able and willing to make decisions
