U.S. Credit Risk Analyst (Houston)

In this role as a Manager on the U.S. Credit Risk team, you will cover the U.S. Energy portfolio, which includes the following industry sub-sectors: Upstream Exploration & Production, Midstream, Refining & Chemicals, and Oilfield Services. This position will be in Houston and report to the Director – Energy Credit Risk, U.S. Credit Risk Management. You will ensure that specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the Bank’s business strategies and objectives; and that all credit activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? You will be responsible for:

Product coverage, which is broad and will include loans, loan products, derivatives, commodities, banking products, etc 
Ensuring prompt and complete adjudication of credit applications and credit reviews, with sound, accurate and concise recommendations
Managing a portfolio of individual credits across the U.S. energy industry, including exploration & production, pipelines, refining, chemicals and oilfield services. Exhibit the ability to perform in-depth financial and credit risk analysis, manage transaction flow, work with other team members to help present transactions effectively at Corporate Senior Credit Committee and coordinate the transaction approval process as necessary within the team
Championing a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
Identifying risk mitigation opportunities and developing/maintaining portfolio reports that support this function 
Assisting in preparing information for and responding to questions from US financial regulators and internal auditors  
Ensuring that all credit adjudication adheres to Bank policies and procedures
Working with new joiners, particularly with regard to day-to-day functionality, standardization of communication and processes across the team, guidance on application of policies and procedures
Understanding and implement how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
Coordinating and working with Head Office Global Risk Management when necessary in matters related to the presentation of the global view of credit risk related to the U.S. Energy portfolio
 

Do you have the skils you need to succeed? We’d love to work with you, if you have:

1-3 years of experience in financial analysis of the energy industry
An understanding of the Bank’s lending policies, procedures and practices
Specific experience and knowledge of the relevant Energy sectors
Knowledge of corporate lending products, counterparty derivative transactions and structures, and documentation
Understanding of credit risk, and the structures and protections required for the exercise of credit analysis
Familiarity with credit documentation issues
Knowledge of financial projections and sensitivities
Experience or knowledge of internal credit assessments and portfolio strategy discussions
