The Team

The team is part of the Divisional Project Management Office for Canadian Banking, responsible to govern the project portfolio with over $500MM authorized.

 

The role:

You will work in a team, responsible for leading the monthly reviews of projects in the portfolio, to ensure the projects are following the Enterprise Policies and Standards. This include on-going review of all project status, risks, issues, as well as monitoring project financials.

 

You will also work with the team, provide leadership in driving the improvements in user training and support, to realize optimal effectiveness and efficiency in delivering the committed project scope; creating/enhancing processes and reporting for the project portfolio.

 

Is this role right for you?

Lead portfolio governance and compliance reviews, providing guidance and challenge the project teams to adhere to all the policies and standards; with a goal to the DPMO KPI targets are achieved,
Lead the training and support to projects/programs for Project Governance Plocicies, Standards and Tools, aiming for all the Program/Project Managers, and PCOs be fully trained to leverage the tools/reporting and processes for best delivery
Strong relationship and change management skills will be required to work with multiple projects stakeholders, other governance groups to drive for alignment from all achieving sustainable improvement in standards adherence, as well as efficient delivery
Manage key portfolio reports related for governance, to ensure standards and cadence are followed to support management reviews and overall governance for the portfolio
Develop and enhance tools and processes through innovative use of the available technologies, and promoting collaboration among all areas 
 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

Should have a college or university degree in technology related discipline
Average range of 5+ years demonstrated expertise that includes the following:
Strong Project Management skills
Solid business process skills with process documentation and template creation
Excellent understanding of project delivery functions (project management, requirements, architecture, etc.) 
Must have demonstrated expertise in providing user training in process and tools
Proven track record of seeking, learning, and effectively applying process best practices information available from various sources, including documentation, online sources, and the knowledge of other professionals.
Must have strong knowledge of the full project delivery lifecycle and/or relevant industry experience
Must be strong at hands-on work with technology, and in-depth expertise with key systems and tools used in the bank considered an asset
Must be proficient with Data and Reporting, and posses expert level skill with MS Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
