The Team
Scotiabank’s Global Identity and Access Management (GIAM) group is responsible for development, management and governance of Logical Access control for the Bank’s information systems. The GIAM Development team focuses on the design, development, operations and enhancements for the Bank’s portfolio of IAM applications and services. These services collectively enable key identity lifecycle management (onboarding and offboarding for the organization), authentication, as well as application and data access governance functions.

 

The Role
The Senior Manager will lead the DevOps team towards executing on specific goals and initiatives in support of the department’s key business and security strategies. The successful candidate can expect to play a strong role in maintaining client relationships, work with senior Architects and software designers to deliver new IAM capabilities and build, train and mentor a team of IT professionals in high demand.

You are excited to be involved in the full system development life cycle. You are responsible for the effective analysis, design, development, coding, implementation, testing and support of IAM AD / LDAP provisioning solutions, access requests, integration with ticketing tools and in-house developed applications 
You are passionate about new technologies and enjoy finding solutions to the challenges of implementing Access controls to protect information systems.
You like working on multiple projects (from large and complex to simple projects) and the ability to innovate in ways that are transformational to the organization excite you
You love to collaborate with various business lines, support functions as well as other Information and Security functional areas
You enjoy learning and passing on experience to other team members in a highly collaborative environment
 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

You possess advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills.
You have 7+ years of hands-on technical experience developing and extending both off the shelf and custom inhouse developed applications
Possess 3+ years of experience managing, coaching and training developers and applications support personnel in an IT operational capacity
Experience with IAM tools and products preferred especially experience with managing identities with any of the following: Sailpoint IIQ (strongly preferred), Active Directory, Quest Active Server Role / One Identity, RadiantLogic FID, Oracle Waveset, etc
Hands on knowledge and the ability to teach any of the following programming languages: Java, BeanShell, JSP/Servlets, C/C++, PERL, Powershell, VB Script, SQL, PL/SQL.
Strong experience with web technologies: WebService, XML, SOAP, REST, WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss, Firewalls, HTML, xHTML, JSON etc.
Working experience with databases (primarily Microsoft SQL and Oracle)
Effective project planning and time management skills to ensure multiple tasks and project streams are delivered on time
