    TurnerMoore LLP consists of a close network of 24 full-service, independently owned accounting firms in Ontario. Located within the historic Woolen Mill, the Kingston office of TurnerMoore LLP is looking for a full time Senior Staff Accountant to join our close-knit team of professionals. Our office specializes in estate tax, accounting services, personal and corporate tax preparation for individuals, estates, and small and medium-sized businesses. Our staff remains the driving force behind our continued success as we foster close and attentive relationships with our clients. We are also focused on efficiency as a core component of our profit model.

    Reporting to Sandra Gibson CPA, CGA (President) this full time position involves 35 hours per week with a unique approach to flexible work hours seasonally and a competitive salary including health benefits.     The ideal candidate to join our team would possess a professional accounting designation with five (5) years of experience in public accounting. They would have a deep commitment to providing exceptional service and enjoy working directly with a variety of companies, firms and individuals while maintaining positive interoffice relationships in a small workplace setting. They would also be interested in developing leadership and management roles within the organization.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
    • Drafting financial statements
    • Tax reconciliation and preparation, solving complex tax account discrepancies
    • Assumption of responsibility for complex engagements with minimum direct supervision
    • Use of Excel/Word/CaseWare/QuickBooks/Sage
    • Occasionally travelling to clients’ locations to perform the above if required
    • Liaising with clients
    • Identifying opportunities for efficiency in office processes and client assignments


    • University degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance
    • A minimum of five (5) years of public accounting experience
    • CPA designation, senior level student or equivalent preferred
    • High proficiency in Canadian income tax preparation, including experience with corporate tax return preparation
    • Strong practical background with Caseware, personal and corporate tax software
    • Working knowledge of Sage Accounting and Quickbooks
    • Able to support clients directly in the use of accounting software would be considered an asset
    • Ability to work under pressure with excellent written and verbal communication
    • Demonstrate initiative, willingness and ability to accept job responsibilities
    • Exhibit a strong attention to detail and ability to solve problems independently
    • Comfortable working under pressure and managing deadlines while exercising good judgement and common sense
